Large-scale innovation projects addressing resilient and secure technologies for defence and mobility.
The Flagship Initiative supports systemic innovation projects addressing major challenges for the Swiss economy and society. The 2026 call, jointly funded by Innosuisse and armasuisse, focuses on resilient and secure technologies for defence and mobility with dual-use applications.
The topic of the 2026 call is Resilient and Secure Technologies for Defence and Mobility. Proposals should address one or more of the following focus areas:
- Resilient positioning, navigation and timing (PNT)
- Photonics for communication and sensor applications
- Innovative technologies to counteract drones (C-UAV)
Eligibility
- At least three research partners, including at least one Swiss university of applied sciences (UAS)
- At least two implementation partners
- The consortium must address one of the topics of the 2026 call.
Funding
Innosuisse funds the research partners’ personnel and eligible project costs. The funding budget may also include costs for the management and coordination of the Flagship project.
Application process
The application process is competitive and consists of two stages. Applicants must first submit a pre-proposal. Only applicants invited by Innosuisse may submit a full proposal in the second stage.
