The instrument funds research stays of 3–6 months in the partner country. Switzerland-based researchers can apply to ETH Zurich for a stay in Japan and Japanese researchers to JSPS for a stay in Switzerland
The Leading House ETH Zurich and the Japanese Society for the Promotion of Science (JSPS) jointly fund the exchange of early career scientists between Japan and Switzerland.
Doctoral students (in exceptional cases also Master students and early career postdoctoral researchers) from Swiss universities, universities of applied sciences, public research institutes are invited to apply. The call is open to all disciplines including social sciences and humanities.
Grants will cover travel costs and a monthly living allowance for a research stay at a Japanese university or research laboratory.
The Switzerland-based prospective applicant must apply to ETH Zurich as the Leading House Asia. The submission of the application takes place in two compulsory steps (as stated in the call guidelines).
