As part of the federal government’s bilateral programmes, the SNSF and the Japan Society for the Promotion of Science (JSPS) are launching a joint call for proposals (JRPs).
The call is open to projects from all disciplines and is aimed at promoting collaboration between researchers in Switzerland and in Japan.
The SNSF covers the project costs in Switzerland, and JSPS finances the research costs in Japan. The duration of the projects is 24 – 36 months. The maximum amount that can be requested per project on the Swiss side is CHF 300,000. The available budget is sufficient for funding up to 10 projects.
Grants for JRPs will promote collaborative projects with clearly defined goals involving at least one partner based in Switzerland and one based in Japan. Applications should describe ambitious research and propose innovative approaches. The research is to be carried out at the research facilities involved; reciprocal visits and short stays in Switzerland for researchers from Japan and vice versa are possible within the scope of a JRP.
