Pro Helvetia fosters cultural exchange and promotes contemporary Swiss art and cultural production with a view to diversity as well as national and international appeal. Residencies and research trips enable artists to build networks, gain inspiration and come up with new projects.
Pro Helvetia supports residencies and research trips in the countries of its six liaison offices and further selected regions (Arab region, China, Russia, South America, South Asia, West Africa, Central Africa, East Africa and Southern Africa) for cultural practitioners such as curators, event organisers and art educators from Switzerland. It also offers further specific residencies outside the above-mentioned regions. They include writing residencies, residency programmes for up-and-coming performing artists and studio residencies for visual artists at various locations.
